It was just hours after Gordon Freeman attempted to teleport to Eli's base that the call went out. Gordon Freeman was in City 17 and the true threat of the Resistance was realised. The tower went on full alert, and droves of Combine helicopters began to swarm out of the city center.
Metro-Unit 892 was patrolling the intersection right outside the train depot when the call went out. The citizens ran away but they were no match for the sub-machine guns used by the Metro cops. Unit 892 just finished shoving a grenade down a citizen's throat when he noticed a downed strider, it's large central area too tall to pass under a building. There was a lone city scanner, still watching over the destroyed strider when strange urges began to manifest themselves in the metro cop. The city scanner noticed him, and its eye turned a pinkish-red, indicating that the robot felt the same urges that the cop felt. He ignored the fact that civilians were running around him screaming in agony and slowly approached the small floating robot.
The city scanner backed away at first, not knowing what to expect, but slowly moved towards the metro cop. He caressed its front plate as it looked at him in anticipation. There was no denying the feelings the two felt, and it was only a short while before the two's emotions would explode. He began to move his hand towards the scanner's back parts when it made a beeping sound, obviously entailing excitement. Maybe it was the situation that brought these two together, united to a common cause. But one thing was certain for the metro cop; He was going to have some great fun today.
